Cities and attractions

Alicante is the capital and the calling card of the Costa Blanca. It is the second largest city (after Valencia), with a population of over 335,000. Most tourists go straight to Alicante, as the city is a tourist center and a port for air, water and land transport.

In Alicante and along the entire Costa Blanca coast, most beaches are marked with the Blue Flag of the European Union. This means that the beaches are clean and environmentally friendly, and swimming is completely safe here. There are many types of recreation on land and on water: large golf courses and tennis courts, yacht rentals, sailing, rowing, diving and windsurfing. Diving enthusiasts should go to L’Illa in Benidorm, Reservas Marinas in Cabo de San Antonio or the island of Tabarca. Seafood restaurants, a rocky coast with crystal clear water, amazing caves and hollows, well-equipped beaches and tidal pools – all this makes a holiday on a small island and the entire coast truly unforgettable.

The Costa Blanca coast has more than 20 sea ports and 9,000 marinas. The Altea sports port has 500 berths. A very popular tourist city is Benidorm with a population of 71 thousand people. It is called the “Spanish Manhattan” or “Benjork”. There are many hotels, skyscrapers and large shopping centers, this is one of the most developed tourist centers on the entire Costa Blanca coast. Among the main attractions are a water park and a zoo with exotic animals that are in their natural habitat. Also, be sure to visit the Tierra Mitica Park. Here you will learn a lot about the past and penetrate the future of Mediterranean cultures. The park area is divided into 5 zones: Rome, Greece, Egypt, Islands, Iberia
